My name is Curtis. I was born in Germany,
and have been a long time resident of
Arlington Texas. My father was a mechanical
engineer who owned his own machine shop
and was a true motorcycle enthusiast.
My father passed his passion for motorcycles
and mechanical design on to me. Although
I am a media specialist by trade, I get a large
charge out of inventing and motorcycles. I
have been on just about every type of bike
you can think of. Currently I am riding a
VTX 1800, which has been the best ride yet.
While searching for a cruise control,
I noticed a gap between the mechanical
and electronic models available. I needed
something safe, completely passive, and
easy on the eyes. Nothing in the current
aftermarket met my expectations. So I
designed and built the MagnaCruise.
I guess it is true that “Necessity is the
mother of invention.” I began developing the
idea of using magnetic force to create enough
resistance to control the throttle. After much
thought and effort, I finally developed a working prototype. Then the testing began. I was impressed with how well it worked. This led
to numerous improvements and refinements.
The MagnaCruise unit displayed on this web
site is the finished model.
